The Leap Frog's Origin and EvolutionThe Leap Frog first originated in California, evolving from the California Red-Legged Frog. Now, the Leap Frog can be found in a vast variety of habitats, but still remain most abundant in California. They are typically found near ponds or lakes, as they are trained to be reliant on water, but they are now much better fit to life on land. The Leap Frog came to be by adapting to its environment and its predators, to create special and unique features that represent the Leap Frog.

Skills and Traits
The two things that make the Leap Frog so unique are two traits they carry. These two traits are their long, hind legs and their thinner, more breathable skin. Because of their environment, the Leap Frog had to make these adaptations due to certain factors. One of these factors being the predators that surrounded them in their environment. Some of these predators include raccoons, garter snakes, coyotes, and even the American Bullfrog. The Leap Frog developed these longer hind legs in order to travel faster to escape their predators. The reason for the Leap Frogs thinner, more breathable skin is for the specie's ability to breathe easier on land, which also goes hand-in-hand with their longer legs, because it means they can travel a farther distance with better stamina and a faster pace.
